The Path from Graphic Designer to Rock Star

Matt Berninger graduated from the University of Cincinnati, where he studied graphic design. After his studies he worked in the advertising industry, but at the age of thirty he decided to leave his career for music and joined the band The National. He noted that he could no longer sit in conference rooms discussing web advertising for MasterCard.

Solo Debut with Booker T. Jones

In 2020, Matt released his first solo album Serpentine Prison, produced by the legendary Booker T. Jones. The album received positive reviews and demonstrated his creative maturity and ability to experiment.

Creativity in Film and Theater

In 2018, Matt contributed to the musical Cyrano, which was adapted into a movie in 2021. He also appeared in Between Two Ferns: The Movie in 2019 and appeared in an episode of the podcast Dirty Diana, produced by Demi Moore, in 2020.
